Time to Tightline!

Want to make your eyes appear bigger and your eyelashes fuller? Tightline will be your best trick yet! This eyeliner technique consists of lining your lashline, emphasizing your eyes and giving the illusion of voluminous lashes.  This trend has gained popularity amongst the best make up artists and with the proper of tools and instructions, you too can now incorporate tightlining into your daily makeup routine!

Our favorite tight-line product is Laura Mercier’s Tightline Cake Liner.  It is long lasting and comes in a variety of different colors.  You can use it with water or the Tightline activator (The activator will literally make your eyeliner indestructible!)

you may also use a pencil or pen like liner, but make sure it is water proof so it doesn’t smear!

As for brushes ,you can use any synthetic flat eye liner brush that look like this:

(you can find these products at sephora, nordstroms, saks or bloomies)

HOW TO TIGHTLINE:

It is always best to apply liner after you’ve put on eyeshadow. Spray some water (or the tightline activator) on the cake liner, and dip a flat liner brush onto it.  You want the consistency of the liner to be thick and not too runny.  You can test it on the back of your hand to make sure the liner is just right.  When you’re ready to tightline, close the eye to be lined and slightly pull the corner of it.  Dab the flat liner onto your lashline, the empty space right between your lashes. The key to tightlining is dabbing, not drawing a line as you would with a regular eyeliner. Repeat this process along the entire lash line until the entire top lid is lined and let it dry for a few seconds.  And voila! Take a look at those beautiful tighlined eyes!
