Highlights for everyone!

Feeling tired and want to hide some dark circles and look more awake? Mac's Prep & Prime highlighter will do the trick!  These highlighters are designed to provide a “sheer wash of color to highlight, brighten, and perfect.” They come in a twist-up, pen-type applicator. Its best to apply these highlighters under concealer or foundation to give a subtle brighter look for under your eyes. You can even use them in other places you want to highlight such as on the cheeks or brow bone. 

They come in three different colors: 

Bright Forecast which is a mid-tone peachy coral. The peachy tones of this shade are good for brightening and lightening dark under eye circles without creating a green cast which yellow based correctors can cause. The 2nd color is Light Boost which is a soft yellow cream color. Yellow is good for lightening darkness. This would work well as a subtle cheek or brow highlighter on this with yellow undertones. The 3rd color they offer is Radiant Rose which is a light shell pink. Pink helps to brighten skin tone, especially to brighten the under eye area. 

This Mac Prep & Prime highlighter is about $24 and can be bought at any Mac counter. It best to get try the colors on before purchasing to see which highlighter would be right for you and your skin tone. This a fabulous highlighter for anyone who wants to beat the dark circles so definitely try it out.

   There's always a cheaper alternative!

   I've tried the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer and I think it does come very close to Mac's Prep & Prime highlighter. It is a gel-based formula which diffuses light to provide on-the-spot perfection in just one touch. It illuminates as it conceals, gives you coverage over the dark circles and makes your under eyes look brighter. Its dermatologist, allergy tested and suitable for sensitive skin and for all skin types. It comes in 6 different shades, can be found at your local drugstore and costs about $8. 

Tips!

To highlight your whole face with these amazing products is easy!

Just simply apply the product on the brow bone as well as to the inner and outer corners of eyes, even the middle of the eye as a base and blend with tip of finger.You can apply to sides of nose and on chin, and middle of the forehead. Then blend to give your face a luminous glow. To sculpt and highlight facial features, apply in small strokes to the cheekbones and blend. To make lips look fuller, outline lips with lumi concealer and blend. To cover imperfections, dot concealer onto desired area and blend.

Cat Eyes

Have you ever wanted to get that perfect liner or that fabulous cat eye? 

If so, this is the liquid eye liner for you! Stila "Stay all day" Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is absolutely amazing. Finally a waterproof liquid liner that glides on with ease, won't smudge or run, and stays in place until you say when!  An alternative liquid eyeliner that also works fabulous for half the price is L'Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner. Stand out with a dramatically bold or sleek look. L'Oreal's Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner has a tapered natural brush that gives you the control to create the most precise lines for your desired eye looks. It isn't waterproof but will last you all day. You can find this liquid liner at any drug store for about $10.

Get the Look:

Pull gently on the upper corner of the eye area to stretch and smooth the eye before lining. This will make it easy to line and eliminate bleeding. Then apply the liner as close to the lashes as possible. In order to avoid a gap between the lashes and the lining, try painting the liner into the lashes using small feathering strokes. It is usually easiest to apply liquid eyeliner by starting at the area of the eye where the brush naturally falls. For right-handed women this is most likely a left to right motion; for left-handed women it is usually a right to left motion. Stila and L'Oreal's liners are perfect products for creating glamorous cat eyes. The best cat eye can be achieved by extending the eye shape. Use the lower lash line as a guide and create the wing first. Then connect it when lining the rest of the eye. Also, as a good rule of thumb, begin to line upward at the second to last lash.

Massage a small amount in an upward circular motion, focusing on areas like the brow and jaw line, which need the most support. Use in the morning and at night.

The winter is approaching fast and you know what that means: CHAPPED LIPS :(. Avoid the uncomfortable and painful feeling by using Baby Lips by Maybelline. This lip balm protects and moisturizes for a full 8 hours! An alternative amazing lip balm that is a little more expensive than the Baby lips is Kiehl's Lip Balm #1. It's about $7 and comes in other scents.

•Helps protect lips from the drying effects of wind and cold weather.
•Formulated with soothing emollients Squalane, Lanolin and Sweet Almond Oil as well as Vitamins A and E.

Exfoliating:
After you moisturize your lips, you might need to exfoliate. Exfoliation can help remove the dry, dead skin covering the beautiful soft lips underneath. Regular exfoliation can help dry lips become moist and plump. If you want great lips, then try these methods!

1: The Honey Sugar Scrub:
Take sugar and honey and mix it together. Apply the mixture to your lips in a circular motion. Leave it on for a couple of minutes or so, then rinse off. 

2. Toothbrush:
Get a soft toothbrush put a little bit of Vaseline on it. Rub the toothbrush and Vaseline on your lips in a circular motion, you can leave some Vaseline on to hydrate your lips. 

3. Washcloth
This method is if you are in a rush. Take a clean washcloth wet part of it and scrub the dead skin off your lips. Make sure to put lip balm on after to avoid irritation.

Big, Bright, & Beautiful

Do you want brighter and bigger looking eyes? A white pencil can do the trick! By simply lining your water line with a white pencil gives the effect of bigger and brighter eyes! Also putting a light shimmer eye shadow in the tear duck and on the brow bone will make your eyes pop!

If your wondering which good white liner to use, I suggest trying Mac Fascinating for $15.00 or for an alternative try out NYX 906 White for $3.50. Both are really good white pencils!

Now Smile for the Camera!

Looking for that flawless dewy skin look?? Get camera ready with Make Up Forever HD foundation. It will get the job done and looks fabulous in pictures! A cheaper alternative is Revlon Photo-ready foundation.

The Doll's personal opinion of the two foundations:
Make-up Forever HD Foundation vs. Revlon PhotoReady Foundation.

Make-up Forever:
This foundation has medium coverage, gives a flawless finish and lasts all day. It costs about $42, which is kind of pricey compared to the Revlon but I do find that it lasts me a while. The good thing about MUF is that it comes in 27 shades so you are bound to find the perfect match for your skin color/tone. It does come in a high quality plastic bottle that looks like glass so it is great packaging. It has no shimmer or SPF and it a light weight formula. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and camera ready. This foundation can be found at Sephora.

Revlon PhotoReady Foundation:
This foundation also has medium coverage and will last you all day. It costs about $12-$15. It only comes in 8 shades and does have some shimmer and a SPF of 20 in it. The consistency is similar to the MUF and goes on smoothly. The Revlon isn't as hydrating so you probably won't need to powered as much after applied. The package is is simple and sophisticated like MUF and they both have the pumps that distribute the perfect amount of foundation. Both are really comfortable to wear and make your skin looking fabulous. 

Foundation & Concealer trick:
If you feel like the medium coverage MUF or Revlon foundation isn't covering as much as you want, you can always add a little bit of liquid concealer to the foundation. Mix them very well and apply to your skin.

A sun kissed look in the Fall

Do you want to keep your summer tan glow a little bit longer? Try the healthy way with self-tanner. St Tropez in both colors are amazing! Make sure you get the applicator mit to help apply it evenly and this way it won't get all over your hands (definitely worth $6). Both sold at Sephora.

This is personally the dolls favorite tanners. There are two colors. The darker one goes on green but don't worry it washes off into a gorgeous golden tan. I am fairly pale and I use the dark one and am very happy with the results. If you aren't brave enough or want to just try it then maybe go with the lighter one. I would suggest to exfoliate your skin and then apply it to completely dried skin. Also the best time to self tan would be at night before going to bed since it take about 8 hours to be completely develop. It doesn't rub off on your sheets or clothes. So basically you go to sleep pale and wake up tan, fabulous! if you do end up trying it let us know what you think! xo

NARS Orgasm/Milani Luminous

LOVE the the blush color Orgasm by NARS! and there's a dupe for it in any drugstore called Milani Luminous, Amazing!!

NARS also has some amazing blushes. Every now and then they come out with great blush palettes with 6 colors! So if you like to switch up the colors a lot the blush palette would definitely be ideal. The NARS blush palette shown is called "Joie De Vivre". It costs $65, so basically $10.83 a blush! You can't go wrong with that. They come out with different palettes with different colors all the time so look out for the newest ones! xo
